Beautiful Day - As soon as I saw the "Follow You Bliss" Pocket Kit, I knew I wanted to create a layout about a great memory. And my 40th birthday was just that. Now, I know that for a lot of people out there, turning forty is very daunting, but for me, it was all about a new beginning, a new chapter of my life. And I celebrated. For three days. No joke!
I have always loved the color yellow for as long as I can remember. Wanting to pick up the yellow hues in the Pebbles' My Bright Life 6X6 patterned papers, I opted for this MME Jubilee patterned paper, c.2014, as my background. I then found those oversized Tim Holtz grungeboard numbers - remember those? - and then stamped beneath them using Vicki Boutin and Prima Marketing stamps. And then, I got layering. I used some of the kit's patterned papers along with a few snippets of the Project Life cards and a piece of MME's Jubilee 6X6 patterned papers. I also layered some of the kit's stickers with ephemera pieces and Thickers from this month's embellishment kit as well as one of the American Crafts arrow clips included in the kit. And that title? Mixed it up using some of Vicki Boutin Thickers found in the embellishment kit with an acrylic word created exclusively by Scrapbook & Cards Today. I finished the layout by overlapping two Stampin' Up doilies over the sides of the page. Ah! But my layout wouldn't have been done without some stitching... Can you see it?
Happy scrapping!
